If No One’s Challenging You, You Have a Problem

April 22, 2026/in Building Trust, Change Leadership, Leadership, Powerful Conversations, Uncategorized/by Edith Onderick-Harvey

Why your team has stopped asking why You walk the team through a reasonable plan. And when you finish there are a no significant questions. No real pushback. Mostly nods. If this was you, you may have walked out feeling good. “We have a good plan. We’re aligned. We’re moving.” You’re not aligned. They’re being careful. And that’s costing you more […]

Your Strategy Isn’t Necessarily the Problem

March 5, 2026/in Culture, Executive Alignment, Leading Change, Uncategorized/by Edith Onderick-Harvey

Your Culture Might Be. Your executive team can be fully aligned—and the business can still struggle to execute.  That’s not a contradiction. It’s a clue.  Failure isn’t necessarily because the strategy is weak.  The executive team has debated it, pressure-tested it, and aligned on the direction. On paper, priorities are clear. And yet execution slows. […]

Why Strategy Often Fails

January 7, 2026/in Align.Design.Lead, Change Leadership, Organizational Design, Organizational Performance, Uncategorized/by Edith Onderick-Harvey

Not because it’s wrong, but because the structure can’t carry it. Many leadership teams assume that once a strategy is defined, execution will follow. But in reality, strategy often collapses under the weight of a structure that wasn’t built to support it.  Intentional Design—the operating systems, roles, and workflows that turn strategic intent into daily traction […]

Align Case Study

December 7, 2025/in Align.Design.Lead, Alignment, Change Leadership, Decision making, Executive Alignment, Leading Change, Senior Leader Development/by Edith Onderick-Harvey

The Align. Design. Lead. framework In our last article, we introduced the Align component of our Align. Design. Lead.TM framework—and why executive misalignment is a silent killer of strategy and speed. This week, we’re sharing a real-world example of how we helped one SaaS company confront that problem head-on. The Challenge: Strong product, but strategic drift and weak team […]

Executive misalignment is a silent killer

November 19, 2025/in Align.Design.Lead, Executive Alignment, Organizational Design, Organizational Performance, Senior Leader Development, Uncategorized/by Edith Onderick-Harvey

Here’s what to do about it Align. Design. Lead. TM This article is part of our series introducing Align. Design. Lead.TM —our uncomplicated framework designed to help build organizations that can adapt, perform, and thrive through complexity. In our launch piece, we outlined the full model. Today, we’re diving into the first and often most overlooked phase: […]

Naming the Fear

April 25, 2025/in Building Trust, Change Leadership, Leadership, Leadership Conversations, Leading Change, Powerful Conversations, Uncategorized, Workplace Stress/by Edith Onderick-Harvey

Four Tips for Having the Conversations Everyone Else Is Avoiding Here’s what no one wants to say out loud right now: people are scared. They’re worried about layoffs, about funding drying up, about whether the work they’re doing even makes sense in this environment. And the longer we avoid those conversations, the more fear festers. […]

What Good Leaders Do When They’re Worried Too.

April 25, 2025/in Building Trust, Change Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, Leadership, Leading Change, Uncategorized, Workplace Stress/by Edith Onderick-Harvey

Even when they don’t have all the answers. Let’s be honest—leaders are feeling it, too. The weight of budget pressures. The ambiguity of shifting markets. The quiet wondering: Will this affect my team? My job? And yet, amid all this, employees are looking to leadership for confidence and direction. This is the moment where the leadership gap […]

Designing for Uncertainty

April 25, 2025/in Agility, Change Leadership, Culture, Leading Change, Organizational Design, Organizational Performance, Uncategorized/by Edith Onderick-Harvey

How to Build A Resilient Organization in a Shaky Economy Uncertainty isn’t a temporary disruption anymore—it’s the new background noise of doing business. Tariffs shift markets overnight, massive government layoffs ripple through industries, and investment slows as caution takes hold. And if it’s not these specific uncertainties, rest assured, the changing world will offer up […]

March 6, 2025/in Alignment, Change Leadership, Culture, Leading Change, Organizational Design, Strategy, Uncategorized/by Edith Onderick-Harvey

The Strategic Pullback: Positioning Your Organization for What’s Next Our shareholders, our boards, and we, as executives, continually focus on growth — bigger markets, expanded teams, new investments. But what happens when the smartest move isn’t pushing forward, but pulling back? The most effective leaders understand that growth isn’t just about scaling up—it’s about structuring for what comes next. Sometimes, […]

The Unspoken Rules of Communication: What Your Team Isn’t Telling You

February 19, 2025/in Building Trust, Culture, Emotional Intelligence, Leadership Conversations, Uncategorized/by Edith Onderick-Harvey

If you think your employees always tell you the truth, you’re incredibly lucky. Every leader likes to believe they have an “open-door policy,” but let’s be honest—most employees don’t buy it.
